Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is a botanic garden, which is a wonderful place to visit with children or friends at any time of year. It is situated in SW London only half an hour’s drive from the Signature Townhouse Hyde Park hotel, or an hour is taking public transport. It was founded in 1840, and includes the world’s largest herbarium, with over 8.5 million preserved plant and fungal specimens. It is also a World Heritage Site with over 330 acres of gardens and botanical glasshouses, as well as 4 Grade I listed buildings, and 36 Grade II listed structures! Kew Gardens even has its own police force, Kew Constabulary. Tickets are cheaper if you buy in advance; just £12.50 for an adult (without donation) or £3.50 for a child. Under 4 year olds are free. Throughout winter, the Kew Gardens light show is a magical experience.
